Members of Monmouth Junction First Aid and Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squads attended Specialized Safety training at the KPFARS building on New Rd. The training was provided by the South Brunswick Police Department. This type of cross-agency training is the team approach to clearly defined rolls during emergencies. Communications, Safety, and Expediency are all enhanced, providing professional emergency services to the residents of South Brunswick.

The focus of the training was:

  • Crime Scenes: What EMS should do and shouldn’t do
  • MVA Scenes:  What EMS should do and shouldn’t do. Parking ambulance etc., 
  • When we arrive on scene before PD, what precautions should we take? And when we should immediately call dispatch for more help.
  • Operating Emergency Vehicles: Safety, Traffic Rules, Crossing Highways etc.,
  • Psych Calls: Dealing with combative patients. 

Guest Speakers from the South Brunswick Police Department included Cpl. Leung, Sgt. Penney,  Sgt. Morgan, and Lt. Rickle.

The members in attendance (approximately 60) included, EMT’s, First Responders, Explorers, and Cadets from both EMS agencies.
